  • You must appreciate that your organization will respond to or process your concerns in accordance with its policies.

  • You must appreciate that your perception and understanding of the fact situation may differ from that of the organization and therefore your report not culminating in the action that you envisage does not imply that it has not been noted by your organization.

  • You must understand that risk-taking is an essential ingredient of any enterprise and therefore what you may perceive as an incorrect decision may not necessarily be so.

  • You must diligently follow up on your report by tracking it and cooperate with the organization by responding to its queries.

  • You must bring to the notice of the organization any additional information that you come across which may help it process your report efficiently.

  • You must appreciate that while it is for you to report your concerns, it is for your organization to take such further action thereon if at all any as it may deem appropriate.

  • You must remain observant and give feedback to your organization whether you are satisfied or not by the action taken on your concern.

  • No one appreciates a wild goose chase. Not even the most ethical of organizations.
